Bio
Born and raised in the Boston area, Mark Haven Britt is the son of a Roman Catholic priest and a nun. An early love of 1980's comic books and the vivid madness within began a lifelong drive to make comics. He graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art's Illustration program and fell into a life as a designer. Mark has lived in Baltimore, Washington DC, New York City, and Oakland. He loves moving around and the dynamic life of cities, particularly small weird cities. While many of his friends were rolling in dotcom dough, Mark found a nice little niche in print. His clients included the Coca-Cola Company, ESPN, Campbell Soup, the Andy Warhol Foundation, and Guinness. He won some awards. For a time, he enjoyed it.
In 2002 while living in New York City, Mark changed direction. He quit his job, dedicated his life to comics and followed his then girlfriend (now wife) to Oakland, California. Shortly after the move, he was awarded a Xeric Grant for independent comic creators. His debut graphic novel FULL COLOR was the fruit of five years of labor. It was published by Image Comics.
Mark now lives in Trenton, New Jersey with his Princeton professor wife and young son. Occasionally, he creates illustrations and teaches. The rest of the time, he can be found drinking coffee and working on multiple comics projects for Image Comics and Marvel.
