REVIEWS

“Xeric Grant-winner Britt offers a dark, unrelenting story of petty drug dealers, spoiled rich kids and a tormented woman on the edge of oblivion in a truly unsettling one-sitting read… Typeset lettering and jagged, angular, almost angry thought balloons contribute to the book’s singular tone and style. The title belies that the story is told in stunning black-and-white–this story could be told no other way.”

“4 out of 4 stars… one of the greatest female characters ever to hit comics. Ever.”

Full Color is a surprisingly engrossing, suspenseful and odd piece of fiction. Full Color is part crime novel, part 20s, slice-of-life storytelling a la Singles or Reality Bites… The plotting is solid, but what really draws one in is the characterization. The more grounded moments of the story boast dialogue that strikes one as wholly genuine. The convincing and entertaining tone of the script is a testament to the skill of this creator.”

INTERVIEWS/NEWS

“For me, it’s definitely a hybrid between books and painting, so you are supposed to be left asking some questions, hopefully good questions. Half the people who read it think that it’s optimistic and the other half think it’s pessimistic. So I think that sums up what I was going for.”

“Britt has a few things in common with his driven-to-the-brink-of-madness protagonist. ‘I hated my job,’ Britt admitted. ‘I hated my boss. Everybody has gone through that. I wanted to create a story that addressed those feelings. I wanted a character who did something about it. Someone who would go after who they blamed for their problems.’”

“This book is a hybrid of everything I love about comics: pulpy action, kinetic visuals and humor. While this book has no shortage of morbidity, I swear it’s funny!” says Britt. “I wrote this at a time when I had a job I loathed and New York had just exploded. This was just something I had to write. This book has been my life for the past five years and I have poured my heart into it. I think you can see that in the pages.”
